1. Definition of Microsoft Windows:
     
Microsoft Windows is an operating system software, it provides the graphical area where other applications run.



2. Functions of Microsoft Windows: Below are the functions of Microsoft Windows as an operating system software

a) It controls information movement in the Computer
b) It controls the functions of input and output devices
c) It allocate memory unit for application package, etc
d) It report error message to the appropriate hardware

3. Understanding the Desktop Environment: The desktop environment is the environment after POST and BOOT process. This is the environment where all operation begun.
The Desktop environment consist of the following:

a) Wallpaper
b) ICONS
c) Mouse Pointer
d) Task Bar


4. Versions of Microsoft Windows: Below are the current versions of Microsoft Windows:

3. Control Panel:  Enable  Computer user to customize the
                             appearance and functionality of the Computer

4. Recycle Bin:   Gives access to deleted files and folders

5. Music:             Gives access to audio files

6. Pictures:          Gives access to digital photos
